The Last of the Brothers Dim

I finally got my paws on the last of the Nick Bibby C28 giants thanks to Mr Furious on the Oldhammer Forum (your Orcs are on the way!).

Pointless Anthropology or When is a Barbarian not a Barbarian?

Sometimes a question pops into your head that nags at you and demands that you answer it. It bugs you and niggles at you and drives you a bit potty, distract you all day long. Trouble is, I suspect that this question doesn't have an answer. I also suspect that it's not even a question!

Let me explain.....

After writing the post about Lustria a little while back I started to think about collecting a little force of adventurers that might find itself in the southern continent fighting it's way to riches and legend. I already had a couple of figures that would fit the theme and I collected some more from everyones favourite public selling website.

Surveying my new purchases I started to wonder if I done the right thing. The figures I'd bought were 'Barbarians' from ranges like these (thanks once again to Stuff of Legends, Oldhammer wouldn't be Oldhammer without it!) or look at them here

A Legendary Death in the Low countries

A small Spanish and Walloon force had become stranded in the G'Ertondaboot. They had been escorting some much needed cannons to the siege of Haag when they stopped over night. They awoke to find that Pedro and Jorge, that overgrown results of Giselle's experiments, had gotten hungry during the night and eaten the draft oxen. The resultant deal had meant that the entire expedition were trapped with the forces of Sir Thomas Cocksure closing in.

I'm sure many of you will have seen the latest releases form GW. They have certainly upped their game recently and the gene stealer hybrids are very tasty indeed. However, being the kit fiddlers that we all are, the first thing I thought about was "will these arms fit my confrontation figures?" So as the good lady wife and gone out for the evening I decided to get the blu-tac and the clippers and and have a go at man lego with my new toys.

Papa Nurgle's pest removal service

Unbeknownst to the villagers of Frideig, the ruined circle of columns on the other side of the river was of special significance to the Father of Plagues for it was here that the Chaos Champion, Tee'N'BesQit was raised to Daemonhood.

So Papa Nurgle was particularly annoyed when a couple of piss head giants moved and started messing up the place.

Ninefingers and One-eye were horribly concerned that the impending hangover may just be fatal

More Metal-clad Mean Man-things

I've added another half dozen armoured maniacs to my growing crew. I'm not quite sure if they are a war band, a regiment or an army but they are certainly proving fun to paint.

Nasty men for Nasty Jobs

Although the name "Chaos Marauder" still exists within the armies Warhammerdom, the actual rank doesn't exist anymore. Way back when the world and his dog weren't 'connected', Marauders were the middle ground between Thugs and Warriors. Better armed and armoured than the lowly mix and match thug but not quite as hard and expensive as bib, burly warrior. A unit of these guys would be perfect for holding a flank, anchoring your line or just menacing some villagers.
