Game 3 - The Green Menace

The second day of the tournament saw my Renegade Crowns facing off against an Orcs and Goblins army. The boys had all the fun things. There were two Warbosses on Wyverns, are least one of them was of the Black Orc variety. There was a Bonegrinder Giant, a Mangler Squig, and big unit of Boarboys, a big unit of boys, two units of Night Goblins with requisite Fanatics, a small units of Black orcs as tax, a Goblin boss on a giant cave squig and a doom diver.

We were deploying diagonally across the board and I chose to try and refuse one his flanks as much as possible so I deployed my pistoliers to my left which led him to deploy some Night Goblins over that way. I then started to deploy my canons deep and then everything else to my right.

This led to his lines being quite strung out and his nightgoblins being stuck in the rear or off on a flank. It did mean that my main threat was the boarboys and the mangler squig on my right.

I knew if I let the Orcs charge I was buggered so I moved up as aggressively as possible. I concentrated the canons on the giant and ran my pistoliers up the flank to try and take out the doomdiver.

Charging the Boarboys, the Mangler Squig and the Nightgoblin boss, I managed to take them all out despite the mangler falling onto to my large infantry unit. The cannons took several wounds off the giant and instantly became prime targets for the Wyverns.

The Ogres charged into the Giant in an effort to take him down and the pistoliers charged the doomdiver. This caused the rear most nightgoblins to release their Fanatics in order to try and deal with the pistoliers as the main Orc mob moved in to deal with the humies

The ogres eventually felled the giant but again suffered the indignity of getting flattened by the falling corpse. The cannons failed to do any damage to the looming Wyverns and were eventually gobbled up. One of them then went on to charge the smaller infantry unit.

The remains of the Ogres charged the Orc unit but were not enough to deal with a fresh unit, festooned in banners.

The Nightgoblin unit was charged and sent reeling off the board and their Fanatics failed to put an end to the pistoliers rampage.

With the last maneuvers it was decided that charging the orcs would only be detrimental so we finished with another win for the Renegade Crowns.
