With the return of Necromunda and the need to get some new gangs on the go I decided it was time to expand the Warm Jets. ( I did start a Tech Gang, then I got distracted and Axiom finished his whole gang in the time it took me to do a couple of conversions so they are on a Hiatus). Most of you probably won't remember but the Warm Jets are a Psyker gang made up of 4 Marauder Confrontation Psykers and converted cyborg warrior. To get the gang up to Necromunda speed they are going to need new members. So out come the brushes...
The first two figures aren't meant to be Psykers but supporters, friends, hired guns or whatever else. There aren't any Psyker rules published yet (apart from the Witch powers in the Chaos list) and I intend to use weapons stats to act as powers. I'm only going to give the actual Marauder figures Powers so the rest of them are going be members of the gang who have other reasons to be there.
The first figure is a Jes Goodwin Brat figure and while he isn't as bald as his comrades he is just as snazzy. He is probably the brother of one of the gang Psykers or he may be simply an outcast who see's a bunch of untamed Psykers as a route to power and riches.
The second figure is a converted Marauder Dark elf scout. He got a haircut and and natty pair of shades as well as a upgrade from a crossbow pistol to a Bolter. He, like the cyborg warrior is far more loyal to the psykers than the ex-Brat. I see him as the organiser and fixer of the gang, sorting out day to day business while the psykers lay in their bunks with 'Headaches'.
I'm going to need some more figures and I've got an idea and some figures so keep your eyes peeled for more disco gang fun.
Excellent editions, with wonderful paint jobs. I’m recalling digging the dark elf conversion as well.
ReplyDeleteThose are excellent fashion choices in eye-catching synthetic fabrics! The two new additions work really nicely alongside the Marauder Psykers. I think the Dark Elf scout gets extra cool points for being from the same label, and possibly the same sculptor (or at least related by marriage). I do loved a fur-lined orange bomber jacket...
ReplyDeleteIt's no mean feat to get back to a band you started years ago but they work perfectly. I want the rest now !
ReplyDeleteBoth of them are pretty cool, I like the way you integrated them into the band. Cool work.
ReplyDeleteSo tell me...is there a gang member named Blank Frank?
ReplyDeleteCheetor put ideas of sci-fi-ing up those dark elf scouts and so now I am torn between using them for their intended purpose, or just chopping them to pieces and wallowing in the parts. Decisions decisions...
ReplyDeleteThe two new guys add some style and cred to the gang. I bet they get the rest of the lads into the cool nightclubs. 'Look, it's okay they're cool, they're with me.'
ReplyDeleteGroovy!
ReplyDeleteNice collection that gels well together. I'm not sure I have it in me to make a cohesive looking band that isn't military (with mandatory uniforms as a painting crutch) so I' always impressed when I see it executed so well.
ReplyDeletePerfection!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking gang, nicely done.
ReplyDeleteAwesome looking gang. And using weapon stats as minor psychic power stand ins is a brilliant idea.
ReplyDeleteNice additions to the gang. Creating Necromunda gangs is addictive. I'm still trying to figure out how to get my Genestealers right for Necromunda.
