Beauty and the Beast

Giselle and Hurtz are finished. It was only after I started painting them that I realised that the pair are a bit 'disney' but that doesn't bother me too much. It just adds a new level of silliness to this whole game idea.

Giselle is looking like she could cause some mayhem. I was thinking of changing her sword arm for something of a more 'magical' pose but I decided to stick with her the way she was as I can see her fencing as well casting her way out of trouble.

Hurtz was a joy to paint and is such a cool little character. The photo doesn't do him justice. I really must do something about my photographing set up, but you don't come here for the photography do you!

I also did a bit of finishing on the spaniards, some sneaky mercenaries to back up the dark plans of Giselle and her minions.

And a little bit on the Veterans of Sir Thomas' crew. It' amazing what you can get done when the wife falls asleep on the couch in the evening!

  1. Lovely painting. Hurtz is my favourite and you've really done a top job painting him (and the others).

  2. Great brush work, particularly on Hurtz.. that head really changes the figure, yet suits it quite well.

  5. Great work on this project. They're all good, but Hurtz really does stand out. Love the conversion and painting. I also look forward to seeing you on Tale of Several Gamers.
