The big unit of Gor and the Doombull immediatley flew into my face and for the rest of the game was in a grinding combat with my larger unit of Veteran Swordsmen. I had charged a razorgor (i know, silly of me) and this had meant my Lance was completly out of position to help and I had to just leave them to it.
My Ogre's and the smaller Cavalry unit got stuck into some Dragon Ogre's but ended up being chewed up. The smaller infantry unit did eventually defeat the other unit of Dragon ogre's and survived the game miraculously.
The unit that caused the most grief for my opponent were my pistoliers who managed to take out most of the Razorgor and cause the Minotaurs to be deployed on the other side of the board, keeping them away from my main units.
My last hope was that the Lance could charge the bestigor and the Shaman's and do some damage that way but unfortunately it wasn't to be and all that was left at the end of the game was the mounted wizard, a single Bombard and the smaller infantry unit.
Although I managed to take the Gor unit don to aeound 25%, they were just extra wounds for the rampaging Doombull and I just didn't have any answer for him.
Although I don't like to blame the dice, when even your opponent is commenting on having never seen such bad diec luck during a game, this must be have been having an effect on my perfomance as well.
Still, one win, one loss on the first day wasn't bad.
