By the time we got all the kids to bed it was nearly 11 by the time managed to start playing our inaugural game of Infamy! Infamy! Linz hadn't played before so I left out a lot of the set up rules and tried to keep it simple as possible. No Elephant for instance.
We stuck to the basic lists that Rich had written in the playtest rules just to see how we'd get on. An objective was placed in the centre of the board and we were both intent on controlling it by the end of the game.
The Romans came on strong at the start of the game and took the fight right into the Carthaginians faces.
The Libyans fought back and the after a lenghty bout the two sides parted with the Roman coming off the worst.
I have to admit to failing to remember what happened after that as by the time we finished it was nearing 2 in the morning and we were doing more yawning than dice rolling.
So enjoy the pics of the game and I will bring you a more detailed battle report when I publish the game that we had at the club (which I will link to from here!)
Speaking of the game at the club, the Carthaginians obviously needed some opponents, and as Linz took his toys back home with him, I needed to paint up some Romans.
So there are two groups of Principes, one group of Velites, one group of Cretan archers and a couple of Officers to add to the painting tally so far this year!
