Double trouble - Rogue Trader Battle Report

I invited Erny and Antipixi over to chez Whiskey for a game of RT over the bank of holiday weekend. The set up was fairly straight forward

"Your team of no-nonsense desperadoes have been hired by a shady underground figure to a job for him. In one of the outlying factory districts is a factory hiding a secret research lab. In that lab is some info the your employer wants. He's supplied you with codes for doors and a pass code to get onto the cogitator system. If you can find Dr Bendacre some where in the complex and kidnap him that would be even better. Security is fairly loose so you shouldn't have any problems. Just bring the boss what he wants and everybody will be happy. What could be simpler?"

The twist was that this is what I told both of them! They however had no idea that they were both after the same thing.

This is the board before set up. There are two entrances which we rolled randomly. The guys picked forces of 8 figures and randomly rolled for equipment and heroes, both ended up with a champion and a Minor Hero. Both routes converged somewhere near the middle of the board and then enter the bunker complex. Each door required and intelligence test to open and a group could only open one in a turn but they could close it after themselves if they remember to.

Erny's gang made a move into the complex.

And Antipixi's boys moved a long the corridor in their section

Both groups were suddenly confronted with the night shift security who were patrolling the upper sections of the factory.

Erny started pounding the guards with missiles and autoguns but he'd decided that his favourite number was one today and rolled a load of them meaning all the guards were able to return fire with equally dismal effect.

Antipixi's boys had similar issues, spraying the complex with heavy stubbed fire and initially only taking out a single guard.

A Flamer did for the majority of the guards and Antipxi helpfully took out another one at Erny's end, leaving a single guard to fail his route test but with nowhere to run he surrenders.

Only to be shoved off the building by a callous ganger!

Ernie's boys enter the bunkers and manage to open the first door.

Add caption
Which open s out into a reception area where a strange pointy eared receptionist asks "How can I help you gentlemen?"

Meanwhile Jenny Tong of Channel Omega has made an appearance looking to gain a scoop on this weeks story. Unfortunately for her, Antipixi's crew weren't in the mood for TV and shot her camera man before brutally killing her! The scum!

Erny kept his missile launcher back to try and slow down Antipixi's gang, lobbing missiles up the stairs.

But they were closing in on Erny's gang. It was getting tight and Erny's gang were taking a beating as they dealt with security guards and servitors.

Ernie's guys took out security in two different rooms.

Before reaching a room with a two more servitors and an important looking guy in a white coat. The last 4 of Erny's figures fought off the servitors and beat the scientist into submission.

All this chaos meant that Antipxi had caught up but in all the excitement had forgotten how doors work and couldn't quite get into the room!

Add caption
Erny dove into the corridor leaving one man behind to block the pursuing force and moved into the final room planning to blast a hole in the wall with a melta bomb in order to escape. Instead he was confronted by the real Professor and more security! He threw the melt-bomb anyway and took out the Eldar receptionist, two guards and the wall! The last guard charged Erny's leader with her shock whip and gave the professor enough time to escape through the hole in the wall just as Antipixi blasted Erny's guard to bits .

Add caption
The professor ran for his life with the last of Erny's gang in pursuit......

......and Antipixi in pursuit of them!

Add caption
It was only a matter of time till the Professor was caught, especially as he kept picking poor hiding places!

Finally in the custody of Erny's last two ganger, the professor is hussled off the table just in front of Antipixi's forces.

We had a great game. It came down to a couple of dice rolls. Erny remembering to close doors to slow Antipixi down, the Servitors lasting longer than they should have, Antipixi fumbling doors, the Melta-bomb just managing to take out enough guards and the wall. It did end up a little Benny Hill at one stage but it was tense right up to the end

    1. Ha!

Jenny is the sort of self-promoting slug that they squeeze out of tubes to fill the airwaves anyway. Im certain that someone similar (identical) will replace her post haste.

The table is my 12 year old selfs dream terrain set come true Colin. Brilliant.

    2. I'm pretty sure that Antipixi's gang were paid off by a jealous rival, interwebs rumours are pointy the finger at Penny Bong from SpiceTV! But you can'y always believe these conspiracy theorists. I personally believe she was getting to close to one Mr. A. Goldberg.
