At its best the GM wasn't a cunt it was the other players you had to watch out for. At it's worst it was just the GM repeatedly telling you why you failed and killing you. Amusing the first couple of times no more.Ernyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06106035249657749275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3298356674700006690.post-11465256717476681512016-05-20T10:10:52.689+01:002016-05-20T10:10:52.689+01:00While I've not played Paranoia, I have used bo...While I've not played Paranoia, I have used books as scenery, among other things. Books, boxes, blankets . . . sometimes even recently. One of the more interesting miniatures gaming adventures was nothing more than the fights scene out of a Traveler adventure that was otherwise old men sitting around a table and playing pretend. But for the fight I got out an assortment of my RT miniatures and we used books and boxes to represent the back of a museum and the shooting was great great fun. Splendid stuff. :)The Composerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14009448596738385017noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3298356674700006690.post-31086473464008770502016-05-19T23:21:14.777+01:002016-05-19T23:21:14.777+01:00Paranoia was one of the first RPG's I ever pla...Paranoia was one of the first RPG's I ever played and yes, never got even a 10th through an adventure. So stupid and fun.

Not on board with the "dolls" description - toy soldiers, sure, but I don't dress my minis or comb their hair. :)Daihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04978439841611727387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3298356674700006690.post-58650877050490497082016-05-19T19:27:49.108+01:002016-05-19T19:27:49.108+01:00Read about Paranoia at the time, but never got to ...Read about Paranoia at the time, but never got to play it. Definitely the 'old school' style of heavy handed policing where everyone is rounded up and punished in the expectation you've probably got the villains in there somewhere.
There is a short run of comics that channel the paranoia universe very well. I think it's a 6 issue run (appropriately enough). davebhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07531919635590898334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3298356674700006690.post-2645559540164745512016-05-19T18:33:55.276+01:002016-05-19T18:33:55.276+01:00I take offense!!! As a kid, I used to GM it frequently, and once managed to wipe out an entire campaign group of 36 clones before they even left their training dormitory. Then then had to start again, but they'd learnt not to be traitorous commie scum by that time. Or at least hide it better.

This article has made me think I might actually get the books off the shelf and try to organise a gaming session of it!
