200 followers! Time to give away a figure! And apologise to theResponsible one!

My funny little blog has attracted 200 highly intelligent and discerning people to take part in my endless toy soldier meanderings. It time to celebrate! Knowing that you lovely folk actually spend your time reading the badly spelled and poorly edited thoughts of middle aged miniature enthusiast fills my heart with satisfaction and even the little bit of joy that my grumpy scots genes will allow.

It's become traditional around here to celebrate another milestone in the number of followers the Leadpile has gained by giving away a figure to one of you lovely people.

Thing is, last time, I offered to do this but failed miserably. The responsible one was the very kind man who won the draw last June but this event coincided with a massive dry patch in my painting. It's something we all go through from time to time but the need to do a figure for the give became psychologically wrapped up in the period and I've never gotten round to doing a figure for the responsible one. So, apologies of the most humble kind and time to rectify this heinous of crimes.

Below you will see two figures. I've emailed the Responsible one and offered him the choice of figure to become the one he should have received 9 months ago.

The first is radical inquisitor, a bit of nasty old psychic, hellbent on enforcing the emperors rule any way he see's fit. Xenos weaponry and psychic powers are all useful tools for defeating the enemies of man. I always saw him as making his home on some medieval planet where he could keep down any mutants or psychics from his eerie home atop some distant tower. Sneaking off planet when a mission arrived with little patience for mainstream imperial law enforcement.

The second figure is meant to represent a rogue navigator. One that has abandoned his house in search of dark secrets that have been whispered to him while crossing the endless voids of space. He doesn't balk at using his powers to defeat people that get in his way.

So. As highly respected and valued follower of the Leadpile do you fancy making one of these figures yours? Then it's your lucky day. All you need to do is tell me which one of the figures you prefer and why in the comments below. Once the Responsible one has let me know which one he would like then all the folks that have made a preference for the remaining figure will have their names put in a digital hat and I'll pick a winner and send them the figure. I'll make the draw in 7 days time.

Thankyou. The best part of this mad little hobby is getting to know all the other people out there who do this mad thing as well. Your continued interest in what goes on in the messy little back room of my house is the best motivation for ensuring the lead pile gets some paint thrown at it. Cheers, I'll be having Whisky in your honour tonight (after all the kids are in bed obviously).

  1. I think it would have to be the inquisitor as he is just an awesome figure, so much character and a multitude of uses, can see him with a small band of retainers clearing out dens of iniquity .....

  2. Congratulations on 200! It's not hard to see why: your blog is chock full of good things! If I had the choice of figures, I'd have the rogue navigator. I like his air of mystery, with the robes and hoods and things!

  6. Well done on the 200 followers.

The Navigator would look great in my INQ28 warband but I would fully understand if 'the responsible one' chose this one first.

  7. Congrats on the 200, great blog and a constant source of inspiration.
Hhit that number myself only a few weeks ago, even with blogger doing their best to strip away followers.
I would pick the rogue navigator perfect for things like Frostgrave and other adventurering.
    Here to the next 200.
    Cheers

  8. Wow, that would be a tough choice. I'd probably go Inquisitor. He just looks great and looks hell bent on making sure that the ends justify the means.

The navigator is awesome as well! Very evocative of dark stirring, sinister things .....

  9. Congratulations! I love both figures, but I'd probably opt for the Rogue Navigator as I can see so many uses for him as friend or foe in a Rogue Trader game/campaign. Great mix of fantasy and Sci-Fi elements mean he can be pressed into service as a cult leader, or Imperial preacher as easily as he could be the navigator of a pirate vessel. :)

  10. (G+er here)

I'd favor the Inquisitor. Something about the facial expression really sells the figure.

Congrats on 200, and here's to many more! :)

  11. Congrats on 200 good sir! I am in no need for either, just keeping doing what you do and that is prize enough. Your blog is of a quality and inspiration that we need more of in the community. :)

  14. Nicely done on the 200 followers, well deserved.

Given the choice, I'd plump for the Rogue Nagigator too. Just because it's a boss figure really with all sorts of uses.

  15. I really like the inquisitor. Probably because I love the base model, which I awkwardly ended up with two of and was trying to think how well conversion work on the second one would go, and now I can see that not only is it possible, it can completely transform him!

  16. congrats, and both look lovely!
